Newly Renamed Altus365 Unveils Cloud-based Rich Media Repository

Rich media has pervaded the enterprise environment. But storing rich media, enabling it to be searchable and reusable, and integrating it with popular business applications and social networking tools, remain challenges for many organizations today. That’s why the company formerly known as Altus Learning Systems has unveiled a cloud-based platform to address all of the above.

This cloud-based rich-media search platform is called vSearchCloud and was introduced today by Altus365, the new name of the company. The vSearchCloud was designed to help businesses more efficiently leverage rich media. In the process, they can save money and position themselves for higher revenues. That’s because vSearchCloud means companies don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time they need to train employees, for example, and they also have a more complete set of information pulled from multiple sources to help increase efficiency, drive sales and otherwise improve business.

Tim Hughan, Altus365 director of marketing, tells TMCnet that the company’s initial offer was more of an application, but the vSearchCloud is a cloud-based platform that includes some prepackaged applications and can act as the foundation on which other applications can be built.

The vSearchCloud acts as a central repository for an organization’s rich media content, enabling authorized individuals from any location using any communications devices to access that content as needed. The platform is able to receive content in any format, from PowerPoint, text transcripts, webconferencing and video to a wide array of audio sources. And it can enable content integration among SharePoint, Salesforce.com, CRM, event registration and marketing automation programs; Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn (News - Alert) and Flickr; blogs and instant messaging.

Prepackaged applications offered with the platform address events, sale enablement and training. For example, it could be used to allow an organization to create a training video once, put it in vSearchCloud and enable sales people to view it whenever and wherever they are located. That video could also be reused over time as new sales people are hired on to the organization.

The vSearchCloud also transcribes all video so users can easily locate the clips they seek. For example, an auto dealership could use the search tool to find data on buyer objections and pull just that clip of a video into a sales presentation.

The platform also keeps statistics on the content and how, and how often, it’s being used. That can be especially helpful for scenarios in which vSearchCloud is used to support events.

Aimed at businesses with annual revenues of $500 million and up, vSearchCloud has a starting price of around $50,000.
