Diskeeper's Latest Virtual Platform Disk Optimizer Ready for Release This Quarter

Diskeeper Corporation, an innovator and provider of performance and reliability technologies, stated that the third of edition of V-locity, a virtual platform disk optimizer, is in the final phase of field testing.

The new edition of virtual platform disk optimizer is tipped for release this quarter. However, there is no official information on the new features on the new edition.

V-locity 3.0 will support VMware ESXi - VMware's next-generation bare-metal hypervisor.

“The challenge with supporting VMware ESXi is that ESXi does not allow installations on the Server (Host),” said Mandeep Birdi, technical presales consultant, in a statement. “Therefore, we have developed an "agent-less" solution that provides the same functionality.

Diskeeper Corporation’s V-locity is designed to improve performance of virtual platforms including VMware vSphere, and allows them to operate more efficiently. It results in cost savings and facilitates virtualization initiatives in enterprises.

V-locity can prevent most fragmentation before it can happen. It enables smooth synchronization of defrag across VMs and SANs. Other benefits include maintenance free automatic operation, efficient use of free space possible, no active resource impact, 100 percent compatible with copy-on-write technology and faster performance for users of Linked Clones/Differencing Disks.

V-locity 2.0 virtual platform disk optimizer for VMware ESX and Hyper-V eliminates the barriers to full virtual efficiency and maximum I/O performance on virtual servers.
