ARIS Community Promotes Collaboration as a Solution to Business Process Excellence

Highlighting the benefits of collaboration between organizations as a means to achieve business process excellence, Software AG is striving to bring intellectual capital and special abilities of organizations together.

In a release, Software AG’s Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Wolfram Jos,t said, “The ability to share content within interest groups and collaboratively create, discuss and share business information -- to become knowledge driven -- is a source of competitive advantage.”

“Extreme collaboration is the only way, we believe, for companies to develop and realize the full potential of business process excellence. The ARIS Community is a major force in enabling this collaboration. We have also seen the power of extreme collaboration across borders in action in the 1 million strong Terracotta open source community for many years, and we are delighted to bring that experience and expertise into our DNA,” Jost added.

Software AG’s ARIS Community has achieved 100,000 members within 22 months of its launch.ARIS is a Business Process Management (BPM) Community which brings about collaboration among individuals, businesses and universities in analyzing, visualizing and sharing business information.

Officials expressed that capturing and collaborating on an organization’s intellectual capital helps in the creation of a knowledge-based organization and economy. The ARIS Community facilitates collaboration and learning between process beginners and experts besides also providing a comprehensive information exchange platform.

Also, process models are employed in Software AG’s webMethods (News - Alert) BPM Suite for optimizing the value chain. It has been realized that collaborative work practices strengthen business opportunities that are enabled by business process technology.

The ARIS Community includes members encompassing BPM beginners to experts, university to professional businesses, and occasional users to full-time project teams. The community was successful as it was able to model processes (EPC or BPMN 2.0), organizational charts, data models besides brainstorming, analyzing and visualizing business information to support process workers.

Officials added that ARIS Express and ARIS MashZone software packages help employees to capture their individual intellectual capital and information assets such as presentations and spreadsheets which can be used as input for a process initiative. ARIS Express and the ARIS Platform together enable BPM experts to directly reuse these assets.

Further members of the ARIS Community are entitled to leverage Software AG’s full webMethods product suite to implement process models created through ARIS Express.

Software AG has achieved productivity gains by implementing the NetSuite (News - Alert) OpenAir professional services automation tool.
