2020 Women on Boards, a grassroots campaign aimed at raising the percentage of women serving on corporate boards in the U.S. to 20 percent or greater by the year 2020, recently recognized EarthLink, Inc. with top honor.
In a press release, EarthLink, Inc., a leading IP infrastructure and services company, announced that it has been recognized as a 2020 Women on Board Winning "W" Company. EarthLink has been chosen for the honor for introducing diversity on its Board of Directors.
“We value diversity on our Board of Directors and believe it leads to more creative thinking, innovative problem solving and better overall governance,” EarthLink Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rolla P. Huff noted in a statement.
EarthLink mainly caters to medium-sized and large businesses, enterprise organizations. Currently, the company claims to have over 1.5 million consumers across the United States. Operating in the industry for decades, the company has earned distinction for both outstanding customer service and product innovation. Under its EarthLink Business brand, the company provides voice, data, cloud computing, mobile and equipment services over a 28,000 mile fiber network and MPLS-based services nationwide.
EarthLink has two women on its Board of Directors including Marce Fuller, former CEO of Mirant Corporation, who is EarthLink's Lead Director, and Susan Bowick, formerly EVP with Hewlett Packard Company, who chairs EarthLink's Leadership and Compensation Committee.
In May EarthLink announced the launch of its new carrier division EarthLink Carrier.
Formed by the combination of Deltacom's Interstate FiberNet, Inc., New Edge Networks' (News - Alert) wholesale segment, and the recent acquisition of One Communications carrier business, the Company said that EarthLink Carrier will serve a range of carrier and wholesale customers.
