Xcedex Releases Case Study of Successful Optimization of Client's Amazon EC2

Xcedex, a leading provider of IT system cloud, virtualization, and performance optimization solutions, recently came up with a case study of the successful optimization of a client's Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

Gruve Technologies, a medical device firm in Minneapolis, deployed Xcedex's flagship product, X_Factor, in an Amazon EC2 to discover its inventory, and assess their core applications running.

“Gruve was experiencing some application response time issues so we called Xcedex and within 24 hours, Xcedex had X_Factor deployed. X_Factor identified several key application performance and infrastructure related issues and produced an actionable report that helped us resolve the issues and avoid a potential business outage,” said Dr. Robert Gauthier, M.D., CEO of Gruve Technologies, in a statement. Dr. Gauthier went on to say, “Gruve is currently using X_Factor to provide up-to-date analysis on utilization statistics, optimization and capacity planning.”

“As more companies deploy applications to the cloud, we have seen a demand for a complete solution that provides them with better insight and operational visibility for their private or public cloud,” said Chris Taylor, president and CEO of Xcedex. “For many organizations there is a common belief that their existing IT management tools are not suitable for the cloud, since these tools were developed for the physical or virtual that world they migrated from. For cloud, these legacy tools are unreliable, time consuming and error-prone, potentially exposing companies to significant operational risks, and business interruption costs.”

X_Factor's innovative programming and broad range capabilities help organizations with design, analysis, cost management, implementation and monitoring over their physical, virtual or cloud platforms: Physical to Virtual (P2V), Virtual to Virtual Alignment / Optimization (V2VO) and Virtual to Cloud (V2C).

In other news, Xcedex recently signed a long term contract to provide X_Factor as software as a service (SaaS (News - Alert)) in a licensing agreement encompassing virtualization planning, design, and deployment project. As per the terms of the agreement, Xcedex's X_Factor will be deployed across global organizations in support of planning, design and implementation of virtualization of VMware spanning in excess of 12,000 devices.
