ATEN Unveils a New Two-Port USB Cable KVM Switch

Allowing users to control two computers via a single VGA console, ATEN (News - Alert) International, has introduced a new two-port USB KVM switch in a compact design.

Allowing a neat and tidy desktop installation without the clutter of extra cables, the CS62T leverages a patented all-in-one design. Apart from support for Windows 7, the unit is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux. Users can switch between computers via hotkeys and mouse. Facilitating users to simply double-click on the scroll wheel of a USB mouse to change ports, the CS62T offers a mouse port-switching function. Also, it is audio-enabled with support for microphones and speakers. The CS62T provides a rich sound experience for 2.1 surround sound systems, with a full bass response.

“With its all-in-one compact design, the new CS62T provides desktop users with a convenient method to manage and control two computers without the cable clutter of other solutions," explained Kevin Chen, president of ATEN International. "The audio-enabled switch is also ideal to transfer files and share USB peripherals among the connected computers. With the launch of the CS62T, we are pleased to offer our customers what we believe is the ultimate in KVM switching functionality.”

Allowing the unit to automatically switch to the next powered on computer if the other computer is powered off, CS62T also provides power-on detection. Additionally, the unit supports Sun and Mac keyboards via emulation technology. Offering superior video resolutions – up to 2048 x 1536 - the CS62T supports a wide range of gaming and multimedia keyboards, for PC game applications.

Recently, the company announced it has unveiled its VanCrystVS1204T/VS1208T A/V Over CAT5 Distribution Unit, a solution for sending audio and video content to multiple displays. According to ATEN, the distribution unit announced concurrently with the VanCryst Media Matrix Solution represents a concerted effort by the company to extend the reach of VanCryst, ATEN's line of professional A/V solutions, in the North American market.
