Coraid Offers Ethernet SAN Storage to ParkingSOFT

Coraid, a developer of Ethernet storage area network (SAN) solutions, announced that ParkingSOFT, a provider of parking products and applications, selected Coraid EtherDrive Ethernet SAN storage for its virtualization project.

The Atlanta-based ParkingSOFT manufactures parking access and revenue control hardware and software for the transportation industry. With the help of its strategic partners, ParkingSOFT hopes to change the traditional method in which parking Access and Revenue Control Systems have been provided worldwide.

Coraid Ethernet SAN leverages raw Ethernet with ATA over Ethernet (AoE) and the CorOS distributed storage operating system. It delivers better than Fibre Channel performance at up to 1800 MB/S of throughput using low cost, industry standard hardware, according to company officials.

Coraid's Ethernet SAN solutions are designed for enterprises of all sizes. They provide flexible, scale-out, high-performance storage solutions using innovative software, off-the-shelf hardware and standard Ethernet.

With Coraid EtherDrive storage arrays, enterprises can lower OPEX (News - Alert) and attain a five to eight times price-performance advantage over legacy storage, the company claims. EtherDrive is ideally suited to dynamic high-performance computing, virtualization, video and cloud computing environments.

Coraid Ethernet SAN can be configured and deployed easily. A host can configure and address new storage in under 60 seconds. The scale-out design also enables a Zero-Hour Support customer-service offering based on Coraid's disk-portability technology, allowing users to swap drives between arrays for upgrades, service reconfiguration, data transfers or disaster recovery on the fly.

Recently Coraid announced a partnership agreement with Adcap, data networking company, under the terms of which Coraid will provide high performance, reliable, low cost storage to Adcap’s large customer base.
