Quadrant 4 Systems Unveils Cloud Computing Strategy

Quadrant 4 Systems, a provider the next generation IT and IT-enabled services, announced the launch of Software as a Service (SaaS (News - Alert)), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for small to large-sized businesses.

The company revealed its go-to-market strategy for launching these services. The company’s strategy capitalizes on the increased demand for power and data capacity due to the explosive growth in data and processing requirements of most businesses.

“Quadrant's near-term strategy is to begin offering SaaS followed by PaaS,” said Nandu Thondavadi, CEO of Quadrant, in a statement. “Over the mid- to long-term range, Quadrant will further expand its offerings by including IaaS.”

The SaaS offerings from Quadrant include a broad range of common software applications such as Productivity Suites, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), Marketing Lead Generation, Product Lifecycle Management, Supply Chain Management, and others. In addition, Quadrant will offer popular applications such as GoogleMail, NetSuite (News - Alert) and Productivity Suites, targeting the small-to-medium enterprise market.

Through the new PaaS, Quadrant provides a platform to software developers to build new applications or extend existing ones without having to purchase development, quality assurance, or production server infrastructure. It provides companies with a platform to create custom applications for their own use, while allowing third parties to create solutions for vertical niches. Quadrant plans to offer services like Salesforce.com’s Force.com, Google's (News - Alert) App Engine, and Microsoft's Azure.

IaaS offerings from Quadrant will deliver a virtual computing infrastructure to users as a fully outsourced service. The service will include managed hosting and SaaS environments. The infrastructure will be highly flexible, so users can select them according to their requirements, which may be short or long-term. Quadrant plans to adopt a "pay as you go" model, helping users to better manage costs by accessing IaaS on an as-needed basis.

Through these cloud-based applications, Quadrant plans to provide an alternative to in-house data centers. These solutions can accelerate the time-to-market and also reduce the large capital investments required for data center expansion, infrastructure hardware and software purchases for enterprises.

“Quadrant's IaaS offering will allow all users to enjoy access to an enterprise-grade IT Infrastructure and resources that might be otherwise cost prohibitive,” said Thondavadi. “Our usage-based pricing can save considerable costs on products or services, which our customers may need only once in a while.”

While these services will help small businesses or startups significantly save on Capex, it will also give users the ability to quickly deploy applications as if they owned their own hardware and data center.

Recently, the company announced the launch of a set of new initiatives for Cloud Computing, Data Management and Managed Services for the financial, health care, and retail verticals. These new initiatives will provide Quadrant 4's global customers with a cost-effective model for securing, transporting and distribution of data and streamlining applications within a Web-hosted environment.
