Antenna Software, Inc., a provider of complete solution for mobile web, apps and content announced it has been positioned by Gartner (News
- Alert), Inc. in the "Visionaries" quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Mobile Consumer Application Platforms (MCAP).
The Magic Quadrant is a graphical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period. It depicts Gartner's analysis of how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner.
The worldwide use of mobile phones has reached 5 billion mark and is projected to grow to over 6.7 billion by 2015. The emergence of media tablets has created new business opportunities. In its MCAP report by William Clark, Michael J. King and Linda Dozier, Gartner noted that all these accounted for growing demands by enterprises for mobile web adaptation platforms. According to Gartner, this demand will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 40 percent through 2014. Interest in mobile business-to-consumer (B2C) facing applications will also continue to significantly outpace that of mobile enterprise application adoption throughout 2011-2014, and application and Web development in general, the report concluded.
In a press release, Antenna said that the Antenna Mobility Platform (AMP) enables enterprises to build, publish, manage and consume native apps, HTML5 web apps, and mobile web content on any mobile device including smartphones and tablets to low-end cell phones.
Antenna operates as a strategic vendor for businesses that want to deploy B2C and B2E mobile offerings with support for the latest standards-based and emerging technologies and devices. AMP allows organizations to build mobile apps and websites once and deploy across any combination of devices. It also centrally manage and secure the mobile deployment.
“We believe Antenna's positioning in the 'Visionaries' quadrant underscores how Antenna is leading the market with its ability to deliver true cross-platform capabilities; enable a diverse developer community; and support the deployment within a secure mobile management platform. The breadth and depth of Antenna's mobile solutions enable enterprises to build a multichannel and multiuser strategy for greater marketing and business impact,” president and CEO of Antenna, Jim Hemmer noted in a statement.
According to an earlier press release by Antenna, it has been selected as a finalist for the Red Herring's (News - Alert) Top 100 North America award, a prestigious list honoring the year's most promising private technology ventures from the North American business region.
