CEVA Announces DSP Technology Symposiums in Shanghai and Beijing

CEVA (News - Alert), a licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solutions and digital signal processing (DSP) cores, announced it will demonstrate the role of DSP in wireless, consumer and multimedia applications through a series of DSP technology symposiums for the embedded engineering community in Shanghai on July 5th and Beijing on July 8th, 2011.

The symposium will include in-depth sessions on a wide range of topics highlighting the critical role of DSP for next-generation wireless, consumer and multimedia applications.

Keynote speakers of the symposium include Gideon Wertheizer, CEO of CEVA and Gu Wenjun, senior analyst at IHS (News - Alert) iSuppli. These sessions will be followed by technical sessions from CEVA, its partners and customers, including Alango, ArrayComm (News - Alert), Carbon Design Systems, CellGuide, DTS, eyeSight, mimoOn, MIPS, Rockchip and Spreadtrum.

The symposium will cover a wide range of topics including Developing a programmable-based platform for Long Term Evolution (LTE (News - Alert)), Developing a programmable-based HD video engine for application processing, Developing a software-Based Multi-Mode DTV Demodulator and Developing efficient HD Audio and Voice applications.

The event will also cover topics like Addressing 3G and 4G Evolutions –from HSPA+ to LTE-Advanced, Advanced Baseband Software Solutions for 4G Infrastructure, Implementing a Software-based GPS Architecture for DSP, and Solutions for the converged Digital Home.

Additional sessions include Introduction to DTS decoder and its applications, Gesture recognition - Going beyond touch, DSP Software Development Made Easy, and Pre-Silicon performance analysis and software development.

IHS iSuppli is hosting an expert panel discussion on the challenges facing processor and SoC design. The panel consists of representatives from leading companies in the multimedia and wireless industries. At the symposium, attendees can also watch interactive demonstrations of a range of CEVA-powered technologies.

In March, CEVA announced CEVA-XC323 communications processor has been voted 2010 Product of the Year by Electronic Products China (EPC). The communications processor is designed to overcome the stringent power consumption, time-to-market and cost concerns for developing high-performance Software Defined Radio multimode solutions.
