Dell SecureWorks Cooperates with Qualys for VMS

Dell (News - Alert) SecureWorks, a company formed recently through the acquisition of SecureWorks by Dell, signed a strategic partnership deal with Qualys, Inc., a provider of Software-as-a-Service IT security risk and compliance management solutions, to deliver Vulnerability Management Services or VMS to customers worldwide.

"QualysGuard's features and Qualys' (News - Alert) commitment to customer security and global reach align nicely with Dell SecureWorks' strategy to offer comprehensive security services with flexible pricing for organizations of all sizes," Dan DeRosa, director of product management, Dell SecureWorks said in a statement.

Dell in February 2011 acquired SecureWorks Inc. The acquisition has been helping the company to expand its global IT-as-a-Service offerings and information security expertise.

As per the terms and conditions of the company’s alliance with Qualys, Dell SecureWorks said it will integrate, manage and re-sell the QualysGuard suite of security and compliance services, including vulnerability management, web application scanning, PCI (News - Alert) compliance and policy compliance services.

Dell SecureWorks is of the opinion that its customers can now benefit from security experts and technology that can map vulnerabilities with threats to provide effective protection.

"We are honored that Dell SecureWorks has chosen QualysGuard to deliver industry-leading VMS to its global customers," Philippe Courtot, chairman and chief executive officer at Qualys said in a statement.

"We look forward to working with them to provide customers with accurate, powerful and cost-effective IT security and compliance services on demand using our SaaS (News - Alert) model," Courtot added.

The Dell SecureWorks official also said that the company’s fully managed service eliminates management overhead by providing operational support to configure the technology, map assets, schedule scans and expertly review results -- designed to save time and support compliance goals. The company also trusts QualysGuard's capabilities as one of the most comprehensive and accurate scanning services available today.

Recently, Dell SecureWorks was positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of the November 2010 Gartner (News - Alert), Inc. "Magic Quadrant for MSSPs, North America," and Qualys also recently received the highest rating of "Strong Positive" in the April 2011 Gartner, Inc. "MarketScope for Vulnerability Assessment."
