Akvelon Launches Performance Management Toolkit for Network Signal and Device Performance Testing

Bellevue, WA-based business and technology company Akvelon recently announced the launch of Performance Management Toolkit (PMT). In a press release, the company claimed that PMT offers wireless carriers, handset manufacturers, and mobile application developers a revolutionary new way to test real life, end-to-end user experience on mobile devices.

Often wireless carriers, handset manufacturers, and mobile application developers stumble upon significant challenges during network signal and device performance testing. This unnecessarily lengthens the time to market and cost. According to Akvelon, its PMT has the answer to most of these challenges.

In the release, Akvelon (News - Alert) explained that PMT utilizes a highly scalable and customizable solution that includes server-side test scheduling and a test agent compatible with all Android (News - Alert) devices to enable crowdsourcing of the testing process. Thanks to the client-server architecture, PMT users are not required to make further investment-- either in the laboratory or in the field-- to add new test points.

It takes seconds to install PMT Android test execution agent on any Android device, claimed the company. And this is also without any additional provisions. Since PMT runs in background mode and does not interrupt normal device usage, test coverage can be maximized in a brief period of time.

Other features include the task scheduling server, which gives testers the ability to schedule recurring tests on devices, including HTTP performance testing, throughput measurements, media streaming, and FTP bulk data transfers.

According to its maker, the server also collects all test data and provides a powerful reporting engine. A set of built-in performance reports lets engineers analyze and compare test results on different devices or device groups.

“All major wireless carriers aim to provide the best quality of calls and network coverage. PMT is the Swiss Army Knife, providing advanced network measurement capabilities for engineers in the office and the field,” Constantine Korovkin, Akvelon’s vice president of delivery, noted in a statement.

Akvelon unveiled the Global Search Version 3.5 at the Microsoft Convergence (News - Alert) 2011 show in Atlanta, GA. The solution was tailored to suit the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Online. The 3.5 search version from Akvelon was introduced with a whole new configuration, new display options, the quick modification of search settings into search pages, and a feature that enables searching the contents of attachments.
