Tigaro Wireless Selects RFaxis' RFX2401 RFeIC

Tigaro Wireless has selected RFaxis’ silicon-based RFX2401 single-chip/single-die RF Front-End Integrated Circuit (RFeIC) for its wireless 2.4GHz band ISM radio platform for high fidelity audio streaming applications.

A fully integrated, single-chip/single-die RF Front-end device, RFX2401 RFeIC incorporates all the RF functionality required for IEEE (News - Alert) 802.15.4 ZigBee/ISM applications operating in the 2.4GHz band.

Company officials said that the RFeIC architecture enables the integration of the PA, LNA, transmit and receive switching circuitry, associated matching network, and harmonic filters onto a single silicon die.

The RFaxis RFX2401 extends the range of the Nordic nRF24Z1 2.4GHz Wireless Audio Streamer IC, making it possible for the combination to deliver CD-quality audio over a long-range wireless link. This radio platform is leveraged for various wireless audio applications, including Tigaro’s new TV Listener design, said company officials.

"We have found a robust yet cost-effective solution for streaming audio applications by using the RFaxis RFX2401 RFeIC together with the Nordic Z1 Wireless Audio Streamer IC," said Oded Globerman, CEO at Tigaro Wireless.

Streaming audio over a wireless link, especially in stereo quality, requires a distinctly measurable performance, Oded Globerman, adding that the RFaxis RFX2401 enhances the over-the-air link budget for the Nordic Z1, and helps deliver a seamless high quality audio listening experience with extended range for such wireless audio applications as our TV Listener design.

Calling Tigaro Wireless a premiere wireless design and product development company that is highly regarded by the retail, telecommunications and medical industries in southern Europe and the Middle East, Mike Neshat, chairman and CEO at RFaxis, said that Tigaros adoption of the plug & play RFX2401 RFeIC for such popular products such as their TV Listener design is a “major milestone for the company’s rapidly growing business in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.”

Irvine, California-based RFaxis specializes in the design and development of RF semiconductor and antenna solutions for connectivity and cellular mobility applications.

The company, recently, also announced a distribution agreement with RFMW for the Americas and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
