Dubbed the “Coolest Cloud Security company” by Wall Street Journal at its 10th annual Technology Innovation Awards, Symplified, a leader in cloud security, was busy spreading the word at Cloud Expo East 2011 this week that it is not just the “coolest cloud” company in the space but, more importantly, a leader when it comes to the hybrid cloud model.
“A customer who wants to move to the cloud can take what they have, augment it with Symplified, and move it all to the cloud,” Michael Corbisiero, vice president of worldwide sales for Symplified, told TMCnet at Cloud Expo.
Symplified, a unified access management system purposely built for the cloud architectures of SaaS (News
- Alert), integrates customers’ existing IT infrastructure with the cloud, streamlining management, reducing costs and improving security.
Symplified was designed to address on-premises access management needs and build secure portals with personalized access for clients’ workforces, customers and partners.
Currently, the company is helping its clients who are experiencing one of the “biggest challenges in the marketplace,” according to Corbisiero – making services work on any device as well as PCs.
“The control point is now all over the map and that is a big challenge for the IT guys,” he said. “They have to figure out how make it secure all over and bring it to mobile devices.”
Recently, Symplified developed and introduced its Symplified Mobile Edition, which secures cloud and Web apps on any mobile device so that enterprises can safely make corporate data accessible on tablets and smartphones. Symplified Mobile Edition extends comprehensive identity and access management capabilities previously only available on network-based computers to mobile platforms without installing any software on endpoint devices.
While at Cloud Expo, an event Symplified has attended multiple times, the company was particularly impressed with consumers and companies are really starting to adopt and understand the cloud.
“We have been very impressed with the level of interest and the number of attendees who are now implementing their ‘cloud’ strategy,” Corbisiero said. “A year ago people were like, ‘What is the cloud?’ and now people are doing the cloud.”
“Our expectations have been totally met with this show,” he added.
