Lawrence Pumps has chosen Certeon’s (News - Alert) WAN optimization product software called eCelera to enable its employees to access all their information just like they would from their desktop computers. This step was taken by Lawrence Pumps after over 90 percent of the company’s employees were unable to access their centralized data due to latency issues and hampered WAN links. Added to this concern was the rapid rate at which new data creation was progressing in the global enterprises, averaging at about 60 percent a year.
Lawrence Pumps, a world leader in the manufacture of pumps for critical industries, has now made use of the eCelera as a replacement to its WAN optimization hardware from Citrix. The Certeon software offers much better software solutions performance and is also a lot cheaper at about 25 percent less.
In a release, Information Systems Manager of Lawrence Pumps Inc., Celine Moulton said that “When it came time to open a new office in India, we started exploring other WAN Optimization options and found that Certeon’s solution was 25 percent less than the cost of the Citrix Branch Repeater. The flexible licensing model and competitive price point were key factors in our decision to switch WAN optimization providers. Since then, the benefit our company has seen from Certeon has given us tremendous confidence in their solution. Our users have reported significant performance improvements for Windows File Shares.”
CEO and co-founder of Certeon, Peter Dougherty said that “More and more companies are breaking the shackles imposed by hardware appliance solutions as they experience firsthand that eCelera provides better performance and can be cost-effectively deployed to all branch offices. Our flexible licensing model combined with eCelera software centralized management functionality has eliminated deployment time and cost challenges for companies like Lawrence Pumps, aligning their IT infrastructure with their corporate strategy and budget requirements. This combination of a licensing model that can be flexible enough to adjust to the corporate budget requirements and support all hypervisors offers organizations the opportunity to employ their IT infrastructure as a competitive advantage built from the inside out.”
