Digium Invites Open Source Software Developers and Other Contributors to the AstriCon Developer Days

Digium (News - Alert), the force behind the open source telephony software Asterisk (News - Alert), has invited open source software developers and other contributors to the Asterisk (News - Alert) and Asterisk Scalable Communications Framework (SCF) platforms to take part in the upcoming AstriCon Developer Days.

AstriCon will be held from Oct 25 – 27 at Westminster, Colorado and the series of developer conferences is planned for the days prior to and following the annual AstriCon event.

Digium offers Asterisk software free to the open source community and offers Switchvox, Digium’s Unified Communications (News - Alert) (News - Alert) solution to power a broad family of products for small, medium and large businesses. Asterisk is purported as the free, open source software that turns an ordinary computer into a feature-rich voice communications server and the software makes it simple to create and deploy a wide range of telephony applications and services. The Asterisk SCF is designed to provide the highest levels of availability, scalability, extensibility, fault-tolerance and performance.

AstriCon’s mission is to expand awareness and knowledge of Asterisk over the course of a three-day conference and exhibition. AstriCon includes a wealth of information for every Asterisk user, whether they are getting started or have already discovered the power of Asterisk. Programmers, open source coders, software developers, PBX (News - Alert) (News - Alert) developers, call center and CRM developers, system integrators of open source technology and entrepreneurs from major enterprises are expected to attend this event.

Digium (News - Alert) claimed that its channel and technology partners and business users from small, medium and large companies will get to see an exhibition of rich content at both AstriCon and AstriCon Developer Days.

Officials with Digium exclaimed that Asterisk has long drawn its strength from its energetic community, which includes hundreds of active developers. They receive continuous feedback from developers and other enthusiasts, but want to invite and encourage involvement in the events created specifically for developers. Digium thinks the open forum and ability to receive instant feedback and reaction to suggestions and comments will be invaluable for all participants.
