Accedian Networks Inks OEM Agreement with Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe

Accedian Networks (News - Alert) has signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Birmingham, England, based Fujitsu (News - Alert) Telecommunications Europe.

Under the agreement, Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe, a supplier of next generation telecommunications technology and services across EMEA, will add Accedian’s full product line of MetroNID1 Gigabit Ethernet demarcation devices, and also their MetroNODE 10GE, a 10 Gigabit demarcation and OAM aggregator.

The company believes that the addition of demarcation devices to its FDX2400 family of products will enable it to deliver an enhanced, end-to-end solution with an accurate performance measurement.

Alan Davidson (News - Alert), head of products and service solutions at Fujitsu, said that the Accedian demarcation equipment represents the state-of-the-art in Ethernet Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) equipment.

“Combining this functionality with Fujitsu’s Ethernet access product and service portfolio will enable us to deliver tremendous value to our customers,” Davidson said.

Designed to use in multiple applications within customer networks, Fujitsu’s series of FDX2400 Switches provide support for next generation access, mobile backhaul and point-to-point fibre networks, all within a single product.

Accedian Networks’ demarcation devices offer remote diagnostic, monitoring and performance measurement capabilities, which are expected to complement Fujitsu’s Carrier Ethernet solution portfolio.

Calling the agreement with Fujitsu very important to Accedian as it provides the company with a strong, well-respected partner, Craig Easley, vice president of marketing and product Management at Accedian Networks, said that Accedian has an incredible opportunity to access some of the most important networking projects, for some of the world’s leading companies.
