Qosmos Enhances ixEngine SDK

Catering to the special requirements of telecom equipment and solution providers, Qosmos (News - Alert), a provider of Network Intelligence (NI) technology, has made improvements to its ixEngine Software Development Kit (SDK).

Qosmos ixEngine is Software Development Kit (SDK) composed of software libraries and tools that are easily integrated into new or existing solutions, the company stated in a press release.

Composed of a decoding engine, protocol libraries and development tools that are easily integrated into new or existing solutions, Qosmos ixEngine (News - Alert) is a software development kit. Enabling developers to inject application-level insight into policy and traffic management, charging, Quality of Service (QoS), subscriber analytics and other solutions, the latest version provides advanced Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and metadata extraction features that deliver complete visibility into network traffic in real time.

“The proliferation of smart phones, tablet computing devices, mobile web and OTT applications puts tremendous pressure on networks," said Thibaut Bechetoille (News - Alert), CEO of Qosmos. "At the same time, subscribers continue to demand more personalized and higher value services. Embedding Network Intelligence technology from Qosmos is the most effective way for solution providers to fully understand, leverage and derive value from this traffic explosion - reducing time to market, risk and internal development costs.”

Allowing their mobile carrier customers to better manage, track and monetize mobile services, Qosmos partners TEOCO, CommProve (News - Alert), GfK and a major network equipment provider (NEP) have embedded Qosmos ixEngine into their solutions. When it comes to develop decoding technology internally, this substantially reduces the time and development costs it would have taken.

In June 2009, the company released version 5.0 of its Qosmos ixEngine Software Development Kit (SDK). This version was built with new capabilities to mine more network data among an expanded set of applications, at higher speeds and with additional usability. It inherits advanced filtering and analysis capabilities for better management of mobile traffic and greater visibility at all levels and even supports latest mobile Webmail and Instant Messaging protocols.
