Roland's MICRO BR BR-80 Now Powered with SPIRIT's Audio Engine

SPIRIT DSP (News - Alert), a provider of audio and video over IP engines revealed that its MP3 audio codec now offers high-definition, crystal clear audio and significant battery-life savings to Japan based Roland Corporation’s multi-track recorder MICRO BR BR-80.

This agreement with Roland is noted to re-confirm SPIRIT’s leadership in HD audio- and video-conferencing.

“MP3 audio compression technology is the most important functionality required for a portable audio recording device,” Alexander Kravchenko, vice president of Sales and Marketing at SPIRIT said in a press release.

“SPIRIT’s MP3 codec embedded within Roland’s new portable audio recording devices offers music professionals a highly optimized, highly functional audio recording device with the superior audio quality and battery savings and we’re pleased that Roland turned to us to power their new and innovative MICRO BR BR-80 portable multi-track recorder,” Kravchenko added.

Roland Corporation is a manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, equipment and software for music-oriented professionals. The company launched its MICRO BR BR-80 in early April 2011, which is said to be small enough to fit in a pocket, but packs a host of features for pro-level music production.

Roland’s MICRO BR BR-80 multi-track recorder offers two tracks of simultaneous WAV (News - Alert)-format recording, eight tracks of playback, and 64 virtual tracks for advanced editing and mixdown. High-quality stereo condenser mics are also built in for up to 500 hours of recording time with optional 32 GB SDHC card for quickly capturing song ideas and rehearsals. Now powered by SPIRIT’s MP3 audio codec, it is said to provide music professionals with the highest quality audio coupled with significant battery savings.
