By Bob EmmersonInfoblox (News - Alert) has announced that Torus Insurance has installed 20 appliances throughout its network locations in Europe, United States and Bermuda. They are used to deliver network infrastructure services: internal domain name resolutions (DNS), IP address assignment (DHCP), and IP address management (IPAM), as well as network change and configuration management (NCCM).
Jeff Smith (News - Alert), group chief information officer at Torus Insurance said, “We leverage the Infoblox Grid technology for central management, which gives us tremendous service reliability and control over DNS, DHCP and IP address management while saving significant manpower at all our regional sites.”
Torus deployed two HA pairs in their London headquarters and one physical box in each office, centrally managing them all using Infoblox Grid technology, which employs a graphical user interface.
Additionally, the devices leverage Infoblox DNS Anycast, which maintains high availability of the DNS service as well as the built-in IP address management functionality, which allows them to track IP addresses that are given out throughout the entire network. Prior to Infoblox, it was difficult to have any reliable knowledge of the IP addresses.
In addition, Torus deployed a complementary Infoblox product, NetMRI, which provides network change and configuration management (NCCM). This product enables automation of network change, visibility into the impact of changes on network health, network configuration management and compliance reporting.
In other news, Infoblox Inc. recently announced availability of the only DDI solution designed to automate and manage the complete IPv4 to IPv6 transition lifecycle.
The solution expands on existing IPv6 support built into Infoblox's DDI solution since 2006 and demonstrates Infoblox's ongoing commitment to provide enterprise organizations network infrastructure automation and control solutions designed to meet their needs today and well into the future.
