PacketExchange Expanding Network-As-A-Service Globally Via Equinix Data Centers

The leading provider of a range of private Ethernet network and Internet services, PacketExchange (News - Alert) announced that following a recent expansion into two Equinix (News - Alert) European facilities, it will be now be able to offer a Network-Infrastructure-as-a-Service (NIaaS) solution through nine Equinix data centers, across three continents.

The PacketExchange Network Infrastructure-as-a-Service solution is used by leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) providers and enterprises globally. By allowing businesses to obtain network infrastructure as a fully managed service, PacketExchange's NIaaS offers its clients a less expensive alternative to traditional networking services. It leads to cost saving by eliminating the need to maintain expensive hardware assets, engineering resources and fixed capacity WAN circuits. NIaaS solution also allows the companies to build their network infrastructure on the PacketExchange private optical backbone. As a result, companies get reliable, secure access to cloud-hosted applications, PacketExchange explained in a press release.

“PacketExchange has built a globally robust network that leverages the strength of private and public networks solutions, in order to provide a custom data delivery experience for businesses that rely on the cloud. PacketExchange not only provides a reliable and robust infrastructure that optimizes the delivery of cloud-based solutions, but we stand by this service by offering 100 percent SLA guarantees across our core network,” Rick Mace, CEO of PacketExchange claimed in the release.

With its recent expansion into two Equinix European facilities—Amsterdam and London, PacketExchange's NIaaS is currently accessible by Equinix customers across nine locations including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Jose, Dallas, Ashburn and Singapore, in addition to the recently added data centers.

According to PacketExchange, the recent expansion grants Equinix customers access to PacketExchange's global network that offers point-to-point and point-to-multipoint solutions across its globally expansive private Ethernet and Internet network.

“We are pleased to welcome PacketExchange into our Amsterdam and London data centers. Our global platform gives network operators the ability to offer services in more markets and our diverse customer base now has access to PacketExchange's fully managed, global network,” President of Equinix Europe, Eric Schwartz noted in a statement.

The NIaaS solution was launched by PacketExchange in January this year. Launched as a new cloud computing networking solution, the service was designed to enable organizations to reliably and securely access cloud-hosted applications, the company explained in a media release.
