Stockholm, Sweden based Tail-f Systems has announced its OpenSAF TailPack to enable the integration of carrier-grade management with high availability (HA) middleware in less time and with reduced risk.
Fredrik Lundberg, CEO at Tail-f Systems (News - Alert), said that this new TailPack will help the customers bring new products to market faster and with less risk.
A pre-integration service offered by Tail-f Systems' Professional Services organization, OpenSAF TailPack leverages the power of Tail-f's ConfD software to help developers manage networking products using an open source HA framework, said company officials.
Bryan Bettencourt, senior staff software engineer at ARRIS, said that enabling faster integration between Tail-f Systems’ management technology and OpenSAF HA middleware is a valuable step forward for companies like ARRIS.
“Tail-f's ConfD together with the new OpenSAF TailPack is a powerful combination that will help us continue to deliver industry leading solutions,” Bettencourt said.
The OpenSAF TailPack provides sample code for functions like retrieving status information, as well as makes configuration changes and invoking administrative actions. Company officials said that it provides a fast start to developing a completely customized operator interface for high availability systems.
TailPacks include source code, documentation, and test examples. It helps in reducing development and testing time, minimizing project risk, and decreasing the time needed for integrating third party components.
Tail-f Systems is a provider of configuration management software for networking equipment and network management systems.
Earlier this year in February, Bay Microsystems (News - Alert) selected Tail-f Systems’ ConfD software to build the network management system for their next-generation of high performance multiservice appliances.
