- Alert) Network Power, a global provider of Business-Critical Continuity solutions, announced its Avocent Data Center Planner management software has significantly improved ARRIS Group data center management capabilities by offering enhanced visualization, insight and management capabilities into ARRIS’ data center infrastructure.

- Alert) Data Center Planner, ARRIS could benefit from quick, accurate answers for the capacity, voltage and other requirements of carious racks within the data center. Prior to implementing Avocent Data Center Planner, this process required a few hours to a few days.
“We can receive the answers in under a minute. Implementing Avocent Data Center Planner has saved me several hours a week, which frees up my time to do other critical tasks,” said Randy Heller, data center manager at ARRIS.
The other benefits from Emerson’s Avocent Data Center Manger is that it provides an easy way to access information about its data center equipment and configuration with a vast library of more than 250,000 data center devices. Avocent Data Center Planner includes more shapes in their library than other offerings.

Standardization and savings in licensing costs was also a significant benefit of implementing Avocent Data Center Planner. By utilizing the software, ARRIS saves 60 percent a year in licensing fees. Its software delivers information to help their data center managers intuitively understand and manage their assets and fully optimize the data center performance.
Recently, Emerson Network announced it joined the EDGE Innovation Network sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems. The EDGE is a collaborative, open-environment initiative enabling industry and academia, with government input, to work together to enhance the delivery cycle of new technologies and innovative capabilities to first responders.
