Cellcrypt Announces Secure Messaging Feature for Cellcrypt Mobile for BlackBerry

Cellcrypt (News - Alert), a provider of encrypted cell phone voice calling, claimed that its newly released secure messaging features for users of Cellcrypt Mobile for BlackBerry serves as a government-certified alternative when secure voice calling becomes impossible.

Cellcrypt Mobile for BlackBerry (News - Alert) reportedly offers an end-to-end real-time encryption for the security of private conversations, without requiring specialized equipment or new infrastructure. It is a downloadable application that runs on off-the-shelf cell phones like BlackBerry and Nokia (News - Alert) smartphones and uses government-grade security for protecting sensitive voice calls against interception.

The company stated that the Cellcrypt Mobile uses encryption algorithms that are recommended for military and government secure communications and its secret keys never leave the mobile device. Many third parties have tested and validated it to several government specifications, including US NIST FIPS 140-2 (certificate #1310) for its cryptography and UK CESG Claims Tested Mark for its product implementation. It is a software-only solution that uses the IP data channel and works over cellular (2G (GPRS/ EDGE), 3G (HSPA, CDMA/EV-DO), and 4G), Wi-Fi and satellite networks.

The company asserted that its customers have acknowledged that Cellcrypt serves as the last resort when cellular network quality is so poor that sustaining an encrypted voice call is not possible. It serves to exchange information without disturbing meetings and enables users to seamlessly and simultaneously swap messages with multiple parties.

Some of the features of Cellcrypt Mobile are: no specialized equipment required; intuitive user experience; runs in the background and integrates with a device’s phonebook; high performance; high call quality with low latency; operates on all data-capable wireless networks; international calling in over 200 countries; and more.

“With the new encrypted messaging feature we add significant value to our customers’ secure voice calling capability. Cellcrypt has led the market in providing easy to use and rapidly deployable solutions for real-time, short-lived mission-critical information exchange, and this capability broadens our reach to more users in more scenarios”, stated Richard Greco (News - Alert), Cellcrypt CEO and Chairman, in a press release.
