PHH Selects Oracle for Its Next-Generation Platform

The PHH Corporation, a leading provider of best- in-class outsourcing solutions, has selected Oracle (News - Alert) Exalogic Elastic Cloud, Oracle Exadata Database Machine and the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g stack for its new Common Technology Platform,  a standardized, shared services platform that serves as the core IT foundation for PHH.

One of the top 5 originators of retail residential mortgages in the United States, PHH is building sustainable scalability through Oracle technologies, PHH continues to strengthen its capabilities in sales, marketing, risk management, and operational efficiency while providing its businesses, mortgage and fleet, the agility to capitalize on new market opportunities and enhanced revenue generating activities, sources say.

"We chose Oracle Exalogic and Oracle Exadata Database Machine to help standardize and give us greater visibility of our IT infrastructure, enable us to centrally manage our systems, free up resources and enable us to have tighter control of unstructured data and storage growth," said Jeff Bell, CIO of PHH. "Oracle technology and resources are critical to the success of our Common Technology Platform and further differentiating PHH in both the Mortgage and Fleet industries."

The PHH Common Technology Platform was designed based on Oracle's Enterprise Architecture principles in order to maximize the value of IT investments while driving business and IT alignment. Designed for large-scale, mission-critical deployments, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud is a highly integrated hardware and software system combining cutting-edge processors and memory, an InfiniBand I/O backplane and integrated ZFS storage, with the market-leading Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Coherence and other enterprise Java-based Oracle middleware products and a choice of Oracle Solaris or Oracle Linux operating system software.

PHH chose Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud and Oracle Exadata engineered systems to reduce the complexity of its IT infrastructure, rapidly implement new capabilities and share data between organizations securely and efficiently. PHH will also be deploying the complete Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g stack, including Oracle WebLogic Suite, Oracle Coherence, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Business Process Management (BPM)Suite, Oracle Application Integration Architecture (AIA) Foundation Pack, Oracle Tuxedo, Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite and Oracle WebCenter Suite. Standardizing on Oracle technologies will help PHH reduce maintenance and change costs, centralize monitoring and management, improve data consistency and leverage a global governance process for managing the demand and development of new services.
