Nero Introduces Kwik Media Software to Improve Management of Digital Media

Nero (News - Alert) has introduced Nero Kwik Media, a new management app for digital media.

Offered for free, Nero Kwik Media lets users employ a single app to manage such things as music, photo and video libraries, slideshows, and watch commercial movies, including Blu-ray discs, the company said.

“Today, consumers are either locked into a closed ecosystem or find it increasingly difficult to organize, share and ultimately enjoy their digital media across the growing array of competitive mobile device operating systems and social media platforms,” Jürgen Kurz, CEO of Nero AG, said in a company statement. “With the free and extensible Nero Kwik Media platform, consumers will be able to easily organize and share their personal content anytime, anywhere and on any device.”

The application helps users locate, edit, play and share music, photos and video clips via computers, tablets, mobile phones and online social networks, the company explains.

“We expect individuals to alternately utilize three or four different mobile devices on a regular basis. The key challenge for most users is to provide a fast, convenient and transparent way to transform and synchronize content between these devices. Products like Nero Kwik Media go a long way towards enabling this and making portable devices even more appealing,” Jack Gold, president of J. Gold Associates, added in a company statement.

Nero Kwik Media is offered as a stand-alone platform. It will also be bundled with Nero Multimedia Suite 10 and is available as a free update for current Nero Multimedia Suite 10 users. The Nero Kwik Media app store is also available to users of Nero Kwik Media.

In its review of the product, Mashable said that Kwik Media Manager is “smart.”

“For the casual user, it could replace very basic photo and video editing programs, a slideshow creator and a library in one swift and free download,” Mashable adds.

Over 300 million units of software solutions from Nero are in use, the company said. Nero also offers its partners apps, codecs, tools, software development kits, and programming interfaces, the company adds.

Its products are available via makers of technology hardware, numerous international partners, many retailers, or via the Nero Online Shop.

It is best known as a company that Nero that allows for liquid content creation and distribution, TMCnet reports.

Nero has offices in Karlsbad, Germany; Glendale, Calif.; Yokohama, Japan; and Hangzhou, China.
