Avtex Sponsors Minnesota High Tech Association Spring Conference on Innovations

Avtex (News - Alert) announced that it was the Gold Sponsor of the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) Spring Conference. The theme of the conference was technology innovation in Minnesota.

Avtex also demonstrated new applications from its Innovation Lab. The company’s team highlighted advantages of product development based on client collaboration and the exploration of new technologies like voice, chat, gesture-based computing, cloud and mobile.

In a release, Tim Bakke, director of strategy and innovation at Avtex said, “The possibilities of how we can apply some of these new technologies are endless. The challenge is prioritizing and focusing on the solutions that matter most. By collaborating with our customers, we are able to very quickly come up with a concept and design a solution that addresses a real problem.”

The rapid adoption of mobile devices and easy-to-access applications is expected to make drastic changes in the way we communicate. This results in migration to the cloud and businesses of all sizes will have access to more affordable software solutions.

The emerging growth opportunities in technology has instigated state leaders like Mark Dayton who launched the MHTA event to stress the importance and value of innovation by enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) studies in schools.

Avtex uses communication and collaboration technologies to maximize client interactions. The Avtex Innovation Team works on three primary areas of focus namely research and development, technology evangelism and new product development. Customers are encouraged to participate in “Innovation Theater,” an Avtex led session designed to make them give ideas for new product concepts, said company officials.

Commenting on this issue Keith Rachey, chief strategy officer for Avtex said, “We value the importance of voice-of-the-customer. The outside-in perspective gives us a realistic understanding of each particular challenge a customer faces. We’ll analyze each point of interaction and prioritize areas for improvement. As a result, we’ve created a unique process for the incubation of new products and an ideal platform for testing and development.”

During the conference Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Phone 7 mobile application and an interactive sales enablement solution were demonstrated. Product experiments included video applications, gesture-based computing and camera control. Avtex featured a custom application based on Microsoft Kinect as part of its interactive tradeshow, revealed officials.
