Autonomy Corporation Signs New OEM Agreement with Kainos

Autonomy (News - Alert) Corporation, a global leader in providing infrastructure software for enterprises, has recently announced that the company has entered into a new OEM agreement with Kainos. Kainos is a leading IT consulting company, and the agreement will enable Autonomy to integrate Autonomy Records Management (ARM (News - Alert)) and Autonomy Business Process Management solutions into Kainos’ Evolve. Evolve is a next-generation, Electronic Document Management solution designed for the healthcare sector. Also, Autonomy’s flagship product, Autonomy Auminence, a meaning-based healthcare analysis solution, will be trialled at Evolve beacon site, The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.

In a release, Neil Turnbull, head of program delivery in the information management and technology department at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust said that, “As a forward-looking healthcare organization, dedicated to providing the highest quality patient care, we are very excited to be at the forefront of the important new breakthroughs we have recently experienced with Evolve. Autonomy Auminence offers the possibility of a further turning point for us, by enabling our doctors and clinicians to make better, data-driven diagnosis decisions, and thus improving our service to patients.”

Autonomy’s Autonomy Records Management (ARM) and Autonomy Business Process Management solutions have been based on Autonomy's core technology, the Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL). The IDOL is an infrastructure layer that indexes an organization's data and serves as a platform for the conceptual and contextual understanding of that information. Kainos is a long-standing Autonomy partner and chose to integrate Autonomy Records Management (ARM) solutions into Evolve owing to their unparalleled retention and disposition capability.

This capability of ARM’s has supported tens of thousands of users and helped to manage hundreds of millions of documents. Autonomy Business Process Management solution has been licensed to Kainos to intelligently automate all business processes which are relevant to electronic and paper-based documents including patient case notes, and up-to-date medical discoveries, and to reduce cost, save time, and improve patient experience. Kainos’ Evolve is a comprehensive suite of healthcare solutions, which has been designed to automate the creation, capture and handling of medical case notes and operational documents and records, cost-effectively.

Deirdre O'Neill, head of the Evolve Healthcare division at Kainos said that, “Integrating Autonomy's meaning-based technologies into Evolve was a natural step for us, further reinforcing this strategic partnership and helping healthcare organizations across the country to manage their records electronically and use that information to fundamentally improve patient care. Evolve is already delivering considerable benefits to Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust and we look forward to supporting them with their trial of the Auminence healthcare analysis solution, which we believe will be of interest to many Trusts, including those with a specialist in teaching and/or research.”
