Information Technology Firm OPSWAT Announces Certification Program to Replace OESIS OK Program

OPSWAT, a provider of software management SDKs, interoperability certification and multiple-engine scanning solutions, announced the launch of OPSWAT Certification Program to replace the former OESIS OK program.

The new OPSWAT Certification Program is designed to enable technology partnerships between independent software vendors and leading network and technology solutions, OPSWAT officials said.

End users choose OPSWAT-certified products to reduce compatibility issues with their network solution.

With the strength of over 300 certified products from prominent security application vendors, OPSWAT Certification is the industry standard interoperability program. It is offered free of cost.

“We are extremely pleased to help increase interoperability in the security field,” said Priti Dadlani, technical manager of the OPSWAT Certification Program, in a statement. “Our certification helps end users, system administrators, software vendors and network solution providers experience fewer compatibility issues and smoother, more secure network connections.”

Following the certification, the products are verified interoperable with all SSL VPN, NAC and other manageability solutions that employ OPSWAT’s OESIS Framework, including solutions from vendors such as Citrix, Cisco (News - Alert), Juniper and many others.

The company hopes to connect 100 million end users through OPSWAT powered solutions. With this, security application vendors must ensure their compatibility to satisfy customer needs. OPSWAT Certification helps eliminate compatibility issues to keep customers happy and to reduce support call costs.

Matt Allen, technology and forensics analyst of Norman, one of OPSWAT’s 58 Certified Partners, said, “We have been working with OPSWAT for several years to ensure that all of our products are OPSWAT Certified. Verifying interoperability is an important step in our product development.”

Other notable OPSWAT Certified Partners include Kaspersky, ESET, Trend Micro (News - Alert) and most recently Symantec.

OPSWAT offers three levels of certifications: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The three certification levels indicate the level of interoperability of the product with the OESIS Framework.

System administrators recommend OPSWAT Certified products because the increased level of interoperability allows them to enforce stricter, more secure access policies.

Recently OPSWAT released their latest quarterly antivirus market share reports. The report highlighted Avast, Avira and AVG as the top three antivirus vendors worldwide. In North America, the top three vendors are Symantec (News - Alert), AVG and Avast.
