FuseSource Unveils Fuse IDE for Camel

As part of its Fuse Mediation Router subscription, FuseSource has made Fuse IDE for Camel generally available, the company has announced.

Fuse IDE for Camel is a graphical, Eclipse-based tool for integrating software components that works with Apache Camel or Fuse Mediation Router. Fuse IDE for Camel allows users to connect components visually.

With the help of Fuse IDE for Camel, developers and architects can use a familiar and standard development environment, eliminating a lengthy learning curve and speeding time to deployment with eclipse-based tooling. Fuse IDE for Camel allows developers to “drag and drop” integration and mediation components, rapidly connecting systems, which eliminates the need to write code. Also, making it easy to define and reuse routes, all integration and mediation components in Fuse IDE for Camel use standard notation.

“Our mission is to make enterprise architects and developers successful with open source integration and messaging solutions, and a big part of that is delivering corresponding tools that drive efficiency and reduce complexity,” explained Larry Alston, president of FuseSource. “The introduction of Fuse IDE for Camel is just one of the ways FuseSource is making professional open source the easy choice for enterprise integration projects.”

Ensuring flexibility in the development process, Fuse IDE for Camel leverages the well-known Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs) developed by Gregor Hohpe and Bobby Woolf and ships pre-loaded with all defined EIPs. Fuse IDE for Camel allows developers and architects to deploy routes into Apache ServiceMix, Fuse ESB, Spring, JEE servers or standalone JVMs, recognizing that enterprises use a variety of technologies to accomplish their development goals.

Recently, the company announced that representatives of the company were scheduled to speak at several prominent conferences for software developers and architects during the month of March. Those attending would have had an opportunity to learn best practices for implementing open source integration and messaging solutions. The presentations also included Apache Camel and others, from Apache project committers, the company stated in a press release.
