Commonwealth Financial Network, the largest, privately held independent broker/dealer in the United States has opted for Axceler’s (News - Alert) ControlPoint administration software to better manage its dynamic SharePoint environment.
In a press release, Amar Singh, SharePoint systems engineer and developer for Commonwealth Financial, said, “As our SharePoint environment has grown rapidly, we needed more than just the out of the box monitoring/auditing capabilities that SharePoint provides. After intensively evaluating several solutions, in our opinion ControlPoint was by far the easiest to use and implement while being the most robust of all comparable products.”
ControlPoint, the premier SharePoint administration product and winner of the 2009 Best SharePoint Product award helps Commonwealth Financial to fulfill its ever changing compliance and regulatory demands.
Company officials said that the ControlPoint also makes daily housekeeping tasks such as targeting duplicate data, removing orphaned domain user accounts or tracking user activity at a granular level, incredibly efficient.
With the ability to measure performance of SharePoint environments against governance policies, ControlPoint also gives administrators complete control over the configuration and deployment of their SharePoint environments
Commonwealth Financial Network plans to upgrade from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010. In an effort to ensure a smooth, efficient and timely upgrade, the company will be using ControlPoint to align their 2007 environment.
Commonwealth’s team has issues moving some heavily customized solutions from their development environments to their production environment. This issue is also very well tackled by ControlPoint.
“We can now implement to our production environment in a far more seamless manner, which saves us a tremendous amount of time as a group,” said Singh.
