Expansion of XIP across Internap's Global Data Center

Internap (News - Alert) Network Services Corporation, which provides performance-optimized IT infrastructure services, announced the expanded availability of Accelerated IP (XIP), a service-based Internet traffic accelerator that improves performance of enterprise web services and applications by up to four times. XIP is now available across the company's global data center footprint.

XIP complements Internap's Performance IP route-optimized network connectivity to deliver a superior end-user experience via end-to-end network optimization. XIP is a TCP acceleration technology provided as a service that does not require hardware to enhance online application performance and enables customers to pay based on usage.

Talking about the dynamic scenario of IT, Amar Khan, vice president of IP Services at Internap, commented, “Businesses today have officially entered the next phase of the Internet: ‘acceleration.’ Slow sites and poor web performance can have grave implications for businesses. Even one second of latency can result in a 7 percent reduction of customer conversion and lost revenue.”

Concurrent, a global leader in video and media data and advertising solutions, is also using XIP to reduce latency for its globally distributed customers. XIP has accelerated Concurrent's application transmission speeds by up to four times.
