Skyline Software Releases TerraExplorer v6 Products with Added Capabilities and Benefits

With the formal product release of Skyline’s update SkylineGlobe product suite, Skyline introduced TerraExplorer 6 family of products that provides a powerful, easy-to-use 3D visualization tool for exploring, analyzing, annotating and publishing photo-realistic environments. Few of the other products included within the updated suite are TerraExplorer Pro, TerraExplorer Plus and Terra Explorer Viewer, all of which can be used as standalone desktop, web-integrated or custom OEM environments.

Similarly, V6 version of all major SkylineGlobe products including the TerraBuilder v6, TerraGate v6 and SkylineGlobe Web Package families of software are in the pipeline to be released and will reflect added capabilities and benefits to the user. 

To make the applications more powerful, flexible and resource efficient as well as user-friendly, Skyline has revised its entire suite of SkylineGlobe products. Some of the new capabilities and improvement offered by Skyline’s premier client product, TerraExplorer V6, include improved handling of 3D models, complex LIDAR models as well as high resolution elevation layers; reduced memory signature for loaded feature layers; accelerated feature layer loading; optimized .mpt v3 terrain model format support; support for new formats such as MapInfo file, PostgreSQL, Micro station DGN, WFS-T v1.1.1, Autodesk (News - Alert) DXF as well as Enhanced KML and Sketchup model support.

Some of the other features include expanded GIS capabilities, enhanced APIs, analysis tool to measure flood, slope and volumetric analysis, atmospheric and water effects visualization feature, collision detection feature with improved interior navigation and TerraCatalog feature for efficiently storing, organizing and managing connections with spatial databases, layers and projects.
