DataDirect Networks Recognized as Market Leader by Intersect360 Research

Information storage provider DataDirect Networks (DDN) announced it has been recognized as market leader in worldwide high performance computing (HPC) storage marketplace by Intersect360 Research.

Intersect360 Research’s new research report titled, “HPC User Site Census: Storage,” confirmed DDN technology as the most commonly deployed data storage technology by HPC customers.

“DDN is one of the leading vendors cited in our storage survey merely on the strength of its own brand as a worldwide HPC storage technology provider,” said Addison Snell, CEO of Intersect360 Research, in a statement.

Snell added, “Considering its OEM storage provider relationship with other top-ten vendors such as IBM (News - Alert) and SGI, it is apparent that DDN is the leading technology for the HPC storage market, by number of installations.”

DDN offers storage solutions to data intensive, grid and cloud computing applications. They offer the scalability, performance, power efficiency and minimal data center footprint for all HPC requirements, parallel file systems, and real time and archival scientific data applications.

“At DDN we thrive on providing our customers with the most advanced solutions and technologies, in order to accelerate the rate of scientific discovery worldwide,” said Alex Bouzari, CEO of DDN, in a statement. “Today's announcement shows once more that our decade long commitment to HPC continues to be validated by our customers and partners.”

DDN has already won several accolades from the industry. DDN's SFA10000 system was the recipient of HPCWire Editors' Choice Award for Storage in 2010. DDN also powers the world's fastest file system at CEA in France.

The company has also established a leading position on the November Top500 list of the world's fastest supercomputers; powering 57 percent of the top 100 and delivering more bandwidth to the list than all other storage providers combined.

Earlier in February DDN announced a series of HPC funding initiatives around the Lustre open source file system. The funding initiatives are aimed at offering scientists and researchers better and more cost-effective tools to speed up the scientific innovation.
