iPass and SK Telecom Offer Android Wi-Fi Services

SK Telecom has selected iPass to offer the iPass Open Mobile client to its Android (News - Alert) smartphone and tablet users.

iPass Open Mobile for Android is an easy to deploy connection management service that provides seamless connectivity to 263,000 company-defined, free Wi-Fi and iPass (News - Alert) commercial Wi-Fi networks. It offers lower cost and higher performing access alternatives for Android smartphone users.

SK Telecom customers get a consistent, intuitive and secure connection and user experience across a breadth of mobile devices, including Android smartphones and tablets, and networks at work, at home and on the go with the iPass services. With more than 280,000 Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide, the new SK Telecom (News - Alert) offer provides its customers with seamless and secure access to the iPass Open Mobile Network.

Already been downloaded more than 10,000 times, the iPass Open Mobile client for Android is available on SK Telecom T-Stores. It is considered to be the top application market in Korea and is also has a five star satisfaction rating from SK Telecom end users. SK Telecom offer consumers a solution that works the way it is supposed to work with iPass, the company stated.

In September 2010, the company announced the release of a new Video EduSeries called “Mobility Know-How!” to provide mobility tips and tricks to enterprises. iPass, a leading enterprise mobility services provider, with more than 3,500 customers, has revolutionized the connectivity experience by the mobile user. Now users connect with iPhones and Android devices, they connect with BlackBerry devices, they connect with Symbian (News - Alert) devices and now they even connect with iPads.
