Gartner Recognizes Appian Customers UPS and Nokia Siemens Networks with BPM Excellence Awards

Appian customers UPS and Nokia Siemens Networks have received Gartner (News - Alert), Inc.'s 2011 BPM Excellence Awards. A clear win was registered by UPS' IT Shared Services Group in the category of Furthering BPM Disciplines, which included spreading the benefits of BPM on a large scale and demonstrating success and reinvesting returns in deepening the level of process improvement habits and skills.

UPS has deployed more than 100 process applications, with the help of Appian's business process management software. The deployment has also allowed it to improve operational efficiencies, enhance customer service excellence and generate significant cost-savings.

At the Gartner BPM Summit taking place April 27-29 in Baltimore, Maryland, UPS will share its award-winning BPM expertise in a series of winner-user roundtables with conference attendees.

In the category of Best Practices in Advancing BPM Competencies, Nokia Siemens Networks was named a Runner Up. The company has successfully deployed a sophisticated, pan-organizational BPM program, by utilizing Appian's BPM software.

"Business process management continues to grow in popularity because it offers major business performance improvement advantages. Success in the adoption of BPM is heavily dependent on the ability to tackle people, process, and technology issues at the same time," said Michele Cantara, research vice president at Gartner and BPM Summit conference chair, in a press release."

Appian is the global innovator in enterprise and cloud-based business process management software. To provide a multitude of applications that deliver millions of dollars in return on investment annually, Appian customers, leverages the Appian platform.

A review team from the Gartner analyst community was responsible for selecting the winners. Only those companies that showcased excellence in their BPM initiatives received this prestigious award.

In related news, Appian, a developer of enterprise and cloud-based business process management software, has launched a new version of its BPM Suite.
