OpenLogic Voted as the Launch Pad Winner at UBM TechWeb's Cloud Connect

OpenLogic, a provider of open source solutions that enable enterprises to safely acquire; support, and control open source software, won the Cloud Connect 2011 Launch Pad People's Choice competition.

UBM TechWeb’s (News - Alert) Cloud Connect is taking place through March 10th at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

The attending audience at the sold out leading cloud event nominated OpenLogic as the winner of the competition, following the four finalists' presentations. The competition also offers a unique public forum for companies to present new platforms and applications to the cloud computing community.

"Enterprises are looking for ways to get their feet wet with cloud-based applications. The OpenLogic Trial Cloud gives them a way to get started by using the cloud to evaluate new technologies and prototype applications," said Rod Cope, CTO with OpenLogic, in a press release. "We're excited to be voted by the audience as the Launch Pad winner here at Cloud Connect, where cloud computing experts are helping to drive the future of the cloud."

The participants of Launch Pad, this year, completed a first round of submissions via Twitter. They had to upload a short YouTube (News - Alert) video for the community to vote for the top four finalists, who would have the chance to present live on the keynote stage at Cloud Connect, wherein eight companies were then selected. 

Aryaka Networks, OpenLogic, OpTier and ScaleBase were the selected four Launch Pad finalists, who showcased their ideas to the cloud computing community today. Amongst them; OpenLogic was selected via live vote as the People's Choice Winner at Cloud Connect.

"We've had a record-breaking week at Cloud Connect, providing a tremendous platform for our Launch Pad participants to reap the value of all industry eyes at such a time of innovation in the cloud. We congratulate and thank everyone who took part," said Steve Wylie, general manager of Cloud Connect, in a statement. "We'd like to applaud OpenLogic for demonstrating new and unique applications that are helping shape the cloud computing industry."

In related news, OpenLogic, has announced the results of a scan and license compliance assessment of 635 leading mobile applications.
