In its effort to restructure the top layer of its management, the well known enterprise social software provider Socialtext has made two important additions to its marketing and technical teams.
In a press release, the company named Britta Meyer, a SaaS (News
- Alert) and social media veteran, as its chief marketing officer and Shampa Banerjee, an award wwinning product design, engineering and social computing innovator, as its vice president of engineering.
Socialtext said that Meyer brings more than 15-plus years of leadership experience in marketing. In the span of her career, she held key executive positions at companies that specialize in social technologies and enterprise software as a service (SaaS).
Prior to joining SocialText, Meyer served as president and CEO of Loomia, a leading social recommendations engine. In this company she was responsible for administering the delivery of premier social technology and services to industry leaders in e-commerce, online services and mobile communications.
As CMO of Socialtext, she will be responsible for developing Socialtext’s overall marketing strategy in product, services and customer success.
“I’m excited to join the company that pioneered the social software industry and managed to successfully elevate itself to an industry leader,” the marketing veteran said in a statement.
“As CMO, I’m looking forward to continuing Socialtext’s heritage of thought leadership and innovation, while helping it expand into new markets that can benefit from its robust social software solution. Socialtext transforms communications and business processes, and I can't wait to work with the team to reach more companies in that endeavor,” she added.
As Socialtext’s VP, Banerjee will be will leading the company’s engineering team. She is expected to drive innovations to Socialtext's social software platform in monthly development cycles.
Prior to joinig the company she served as vice president of products at TipTop Technologies, a social-search start-up. She also served as vice president of engineering and product management at Gullivergo, an online service for students studying abroad.
Before, Banerjee was chief operating officer at Meevee, an internet video start-up company. She won Application Development Trends’ distinguished Innovator Award for making valuable contributions to the industry and the company she was serving. Prior to that she held leadership positions at AOL (News
- Alert)/Netscape.
“Socialtext’s innovative development and product teams have done a tremendous job of taking the best of the consumer Web and adapting it to the enterprise. I look forward to refining and iterating on the great products they've built, while delivering new social software products that help companies connect people with the colleagues and information they need to serve customers and respond to change,” Banerjee said in a statement.
Through a press release, last month, Socialtext announced the introduction of various new product enhancements in order to make corporate intranets more social, personalized and engaging.
