InfoSpace (News - Alert), a provider of Internet search markets, is looking to power its online properties, and the company has selected MuleSoft for this purpose. MuleSoft will provide next-generation portal architecture, web search sites, partner distribution sites and specialty e-commerce stores under its Mercantila brand under this agreement.

Offering fast and comprehensive search results, InfoSpace's proprietary metasearch technology combines the top results from several of the largest online search engines. MuleSoft's ESB platform will support InfoSpace's properties, which search sites such as Dogpile, InfoSpace.com, MetaCrawler, WebCrawler, WebFetch, and more than 100 distribution partner websites, the company has announced.

Mule ESB Enterprise is the enterprise-class and supported version of Mule ESBMule ESB simplifies the integration of applications and technologies, both on-premise and in the cloud.

“In many ways, InfoSpace is representative of the next generation of businesses models -- creating value by forming a network of partners and integrating their data and services, resulting in something much more than the sum of its parts," said Mahau Ma, VP of marketing for MuleSoft. "We were pleased that Mule has proven to be the ideal platform for InfoSpace's extended business ecosystem and power its portfolio of businesses.”

Mule will be deployed in a cloud environment and power integration with InfoSpace's vendors and other business partners where InfoSpace will first use Mule at Mercantila, its e-commerce subsidiary. The team plans to leverage Mule's powerful features, including its orchestration capabilities and Mule Cloud Connect as InfoSpace continues to grow and enter new businesses. The company operates an e-commerce channel that includes a collection of more than 200 specialty retail stores.

In May 2010, the company announced the general availability of the new Mule ESB Management Console. This new management console claims to be the first and only enterprise-class console for managing open source ESB infrastructure. So, it introduces new facilities which allow developers and operators to efficiently administer Mule ESB. With the help of this console, system administrators can get a centralized view of numerous ESB servers from a perceptive web-based interface.
