HP Launches New Line of Business Notebooks

HP has launched a new line of business notebooks with increased performance which will lead to increased productivity, according to a company statement.

The new design features: aluminum-alloy hinges, cast titanium-alloy display latches and the HP DisplaySafe frame.

New products include:

-          HP EliteBook 8460p and 8560p notebooks which have an aerospace-inspired HP DuraCase that meets military-standard testing specs, so it can withstand wear and tear. It also has a professional-platinum finish. The EliteBook 8460p offers a battery life of up to 32 hours.

-          HP ProBook 6360b, 6460b and 6560b notebooks have flexibility in processor, graphics and battery technology. They have an option of a 13.3-inch diagonal display. The ProBook b-series are smudge-resistant and come in tungsten.

-          HP ProBook s-series 4230s, 4330s, 4430s, 4530s and 4730s notebooks come in different sizes. They meet the needs of small- and mid-size businesses.

“HP is the market leader in business notebooks and we have raised the bar with a completely revamped line of business-grade notebooks,” Dan Forlenza, vice president, Business Notebooks, Personal Systems Group, HP, said in a statement. “Our all-metal EliteBooks meet military standards and will surpass customer expectations in durability.”

The HP EliteBook 8460p and 8560p start at $999 and $1,099, respectively. The HP ProBook b-series starts at $799. The HP ProBook s-series starts at $579. The models are expected to be available in the United States on March 15.

The business notebooks come with the FORGE design. The design gives the notebooks increased durability.

Daily Tech reports that HP also announced this month that notebooks and desktops with WebOS would be offered in the future.

In other company news, TMCnet reports that Hewlett-Packard (News - Alert) is the first multi-device, original equipment manufacturer to launch a location-based solution under its own brand – HP Navigator – for netbooks, notebooks and tablets PCs. Loquendo's (News - Alert) speech technology offers HP customers 30 languages and provides 71 male or female voices, according to a company statement.
