Gladinet Intros File Sync with Major Cloud Storage Services

Gladinet, a provider of cloud services, has announced the launch of Cloud Desktop 3.0. As stated, Gladinet's (News - Alert) Cloud Storage Access Suite 3.0 offers access solutions that cover the primary cloud storage use cases in a variety of access scenarios. Gladinet claims that its Cloud Desktop 3.0 is the first member of the suite to be released.

Cloud Desktop now adds file synchronization across multiple PCs by leveraging any cloud storage service. In addition to file synchronization across multiple PCs and usability improvements, Cloud Desktop 3.0 also includes enhancements for its backup capabilities. With the new snapshot backup, multiple versions of full or incremental backups may be stored.

These enhancements are aimed at offering the flexibility to restore from any previous version instead of being limited to the latest mirrored copy. Storing incremental snapshots, according to the company, offers the flexibility while minimizing the additional space requirements.

"In the modern computing paradigm, it is common for people to work from multiple machines. Many will have one or more PCs at work and at home. This highlights the need for a good synchronization solution which allows the user to manage the same set of documents across all their machines. To solve this problem, Gladinet's new file sync feature leverages Amazon S3, Google Docs, Windows Azure or any other cloud storage service that the user chooses," Jerry Huang (News - Alert), co-founder of Gladinet said in a statement.

Huang is also of the opinion that Gladinet has a rapidly growing user base of 600,000 users and having received multiple requests for enhanced usability, Galdinet’s team is said to have completely reworked the user interface in 3.0 to make it cleaner and easier to use.

“This will go a long way to satisfy the expressed needs of our customers," Huang added.

"The new backup feature also allows users to backup email, or any other live data that may be in use at the time of the backup," said Huang. Huang also believes that the company’s developers have done an impressive job of providing these 3.0 features with significant enhancements in robustness and performance.

Founded in 2008, Gladinet has been changing the way businesses access and use cloud storage through its widely accepted cloud storage access platform. Earlier in August 2010, TMC (News - Alert) had reported on the announcement of Gladinet revealing that its Cloud Backup allows enterprises and SMBs to back up their files, databases, and system state to any cloud storage service.

Officials with Gladinet said that the new option meets the specific needs of organizations seeking to leverage the economic benefits of cloud adoption.
