Quest has also announced to offer Hive support for OraOop, a connector that enables high-speed, bi-directional data transfer between Oracle and Hadoop. It will allow the users to export data to compressed Oracle tables, while they will also be able to use the output of Hive HQL queries in creation of Oracle tables. Additionally, the users can also import or export from RAC to Hadoop, benefitting from the full power of Oracle RAC clustered databases provided in the new version of the latest version of OraOop. It can be downloaded for free here, or obtained as a supported component of Cloudera Enterprise.
“Working alongside a cutting-edge technology wave, we’re adding functionality and additional platform support for Toad for Cloud Databases and OraOop almost in tandem with new demands we see in the market,” commented Billy Bosworth, vice president and general manager, pf Enterprise Database at Quest Software (News

We are excited to keep bringing to market the kind of innovation that underscores our commitment to enabling NoSQL adoption within the enterprise.”
