Cisco Introduces Smart Switching Portfolio for Small Businesses

Looking to "Connect" and "Secure" small business portfolios, Cisco has added new networking, security and storage products to its portfolio. These new devices will help the small business to connect their employees with each other easily.

These new products support additional selling options to partners and also support small business' disaster recovery and business continuity plans with fully integrated backup service.

Offering quality of service (QoS) and security in an easy-to-install switch that is simple to manage, Cisco 200 Series Smart Switches are entry-level managed switches in the Connect portfolio. To help enable users of PCs and mobile devices to access shared content, small businesses can create a network with these switches, Cisco (News - Alert) has announced.

“In the spirit of continuous improvement and innovation for our small business partners and customers, we're very pleased to continue the redesign of our entire small business switching line with the Cisco 200 Series switches,” stated Ian Pennell, co-chairman of Small Business Council, Cisco. “This is yet another strong proof point in Cisco's ongoing commitment to our small business market adjacency, our partners, and our customers.”

Offering business-class wireless security, the Cisco RV220W is a network security firewall for small offices. It offers a combination of faster performance with gigabit Ethernet and the flexibility offered by hybrid VPN capabilities and added security with optional Cisco ProtectLink Web security service. Also, by adding an optional, fully integrated online Mozy backup service to its NSS300 Series Smart Storage product line, the company has enhanced its Secure portfolio for small business.

Recently, the company introduced the Catalyst 3560-C and Catalyst 2960-C Compact Series (C-Series) Switches, expanding the Borderless Networks portfolio's ability to deliver highly secure, cost-effective network connectivity and power outside the wiring closet. These new switches are developed for locations that pose unique wiring, space or power challenges. The new Cisco C-Series Switches illustrate Cisco's commitment to solve unique customer challenges even in the most nontraditional of networking environments.
