New Study on Cloud Trends Released by Saugatuck

Driven by businesses that are reshaping themselves, the current economic situation is turning out to be favorable for the Cloud—driving increasing business and IT activity in IaaS, PaaS, SaaS (News - Alert) and Cloud Services, according to one study.

Apart from turning into a new Cloud IT mission, this will result in the management of hybrid architectures. IT spending will be dominated by SaaS through 2015. These will also include the key aspects of the boundary-free enterprise, social networking and mobility solutions.

The latest research study from Saugatuck Technology Inc. has its foundation based on these core findings. Saugatuck's website has released this study titled "Key SaaS, PaaS and IaaS Trends Through 2015 - Business Transformation via the Cloud."

Analysis of global survey data and interviews with experienced user organization executives were used to build this study. Insights from top Cloud providers have also been included in the study, making a realistic, working model of Cloud IT adoption and evolution.

The study also provides information on the transformative effect of Cloud IT adoption on large and small enterprises.

In a release, Mike West, VP and distinguished analyst, Saugatuck said, "Cloud adoption has been to date mostly a point-solution phenomenon, and we know from every previous instance of IT that point solutions cost more in the long run. If IT, Finance, and business leaders can see how and where Cloud IT has the potential for transforming their businesses, they can manage it strategically and, in the short term, take advantage of the cost efficiencies."

According to West, who is also the main author of the report, scenarios for Cloud IT adoption through 2015 have been presented in the report. User executives and providers of Cloud IT and traditional IT have been guided on the best ways to manage the present and future potential of the Cloud.

All business computing categories are expected to be moved to the Cloud by 2015. Cloud solutions will dominate the hybrid business portfolio in 2015. The dominant Cloud delivery model through 2014 will be SaaS. The landscape of enterprise SaaS and Cloud Business Solutions will be changed by combination of pervasive mobility and social networking.
