Envista Releases Feature-Rich Map Based Coordination Solution

Envista Corporation, a provider of map-based coordination for enabling smarter, safer streets, announced the release of Envista R2 2010.

Company sources added that Envista R2 2010 includes new products and features that can help organizations interested in the public right-of-way to communicate and coordinate more efficiently and effectively.

This new release is expected to enhance Envista’s suite of map-based coordination solutions called Smarter Streets. This is a software-as-a-service offering that helps in the proactive management of utility projects, public works, permitting, incidents, traffic, and events to cost effectively optimize street performance in addition to being an environmentally friendly solution.

In a press release, Brad Steer, Sr. VP of sales and marketing, said, “This new software release is a great example of how the team at Envista listens to its customers and responds with the functionality they need to save time and money.”

Also municipalities, utilities, universities and other entities that are involved in managing right-of-way activities have realized the benefits of Envista Smarter Streets. It helps users as it features additional activities and offers more detailed information incorporated into the map-based environment.

“In many cases, our customers will identify a need and work with us to make it part of the Envista solution suite. We are very pleased to showcase the results of this collaborative process in Release R2 2010,” Steer added.

Company officials highlighted the fact that the new release of Envista’s Smarter Streets solution suite incorporates three new products that includesWorkflow Management which can manage, route and approve permit applications for infrastructure projects, street events and street incidents, using Envista map-based environment.

The Attachment Management helps users to upload, store and view important project- and/or permit-related documents that can be downloaded and viewed, and the Public View - Web Services creates new ways of exchanging Envista data with public websites or internal data systems by leveraging an API based on RESTful Web services.

Also the five new features added in the new release are Import Manager, which helps rapid uploading of existing data files like Microsoft (News - Alert) Excel XLS or GIS shapefiles; Export Manager, for selecting and exporting Envista data and saving the export selections as templates to use with future exports and the advanced search feature for quickly finding specific information within the Envista map-based environment among Envista attributes.

Company sources added that Intermediate Route Points that allows users to add more points between the standard route points, and Custom Attributes that enables customers to define custom attributes for project coordination, street events, street incidents, or permit management has also been added as new features.
