AIS Unveils Enterprise High Availability (e-HA) Solution for addressing Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Needs

An enterprise-class data center and connectivity services company American Internet Services (AIS) that operates seven premium data center footprints in Los Angeles, San Diego and Phoenix recently extended its portfolio of Enterprise Managed Services (EMS) with the addition of a family of Enterprise High Availability (e-HA) services.

An addition to the AIS portfolio of Enterprise Managed Services (EMS), e-HA leverages key components in the AIS DR/BC Toolbox and adds state-of-the-art, local and global load balancing technology, to provide performance optimization of mission critical applications and fulfill Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity requirements.

In a press release, the AIS CEO, Tim Caulfield said that its EMS is designed to make its enterprise clients’ IT environment even more efficient. “AIS Enterprise Managed Services are intended to augment the solutions already deployed by our colocation customers -- allowing them to take advantage of the world-class capabilities we have to make their environment even more efficient. What's especially appealing about the e-HA offering is the value it provides: the client gets a customized solution that's been tailored by our ProServices team, utilizing the latest high-availability technology and proven best practices, at a price that fits within their budget,” Caulfield explained.

Below are the basic components of the e-HA service as given out by AIS:

State-of-the-art local and global load balancing technology

High-performance private network between data centers

Expert engineering and support staff

Extensive transit and peering network

Fully monitored and managed service

The AIS e-HA portfolio of solutions ranges from a basic service, that covers a single host record (website URL), to a bundle that can handle 10 host records, to a global-local package that includes the AIS Integrated Local and Global load balancing services. Pricing consists of a setup fee and a monthly service fee, the officials at AIS explained..

“e-HA puts the latest service continuity and load balancing technology in the hands of our clients, without the upfront investment in hardware or technical expertise. Furthermore, e-HA is just one of a number of comprehensive solutions under the Enterprise Managed Services umbrella. Other offerings with similar benefits will be unveiled in 2011,” Steve Wallace, director of network operations for AIS noted in a statement.

Few days back, in a separate statement AIS announced that its Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DR/BC) Toolbox was well received during a forum that took place in Los Angeles last week.
