American Industrial Systems (AIS), a provider of specialty industrial panel pc, industrial display, digital signage, and rugged tablet PC solutions for customers in the industrial automation, military and aerospace, medical, transportation, and power and energy markets, has launched an industrial 5.7-inch Human Machine Interface (HMI) Touch Panel PC.
Equipped with a number of advanced features such as low power consumption, shock, vibration and temperature resistance, the new device is based upon the Microsoft (News
- Alert) Windows CE operating system. Enterprises can use the new AIS 5.7-inch HMI touch terminal in machine-level and site-level HMI applications, which has been developed with an IP64 protected front panel. The device features an integrated touch screen for sealing out dust and water that enables the companies to operate it in environmentally challenging conditions.
Powered by a 520MHz RISC-based processor, the open platform HMI system offers high performance and consumes very low power. The system includes a solid state storage of 1 GB and built-in WiFi (News
- Alert) 802.11b/g connectivity that helps the users in staying connected without running additional cables. Additionally, it features a high brightness LCD display with touch screen interface that makes user interaction possible for graphical display automation, monitoring and control.
The company has designed the HMI operator station for smooth operation in extreme industrial conditions, including a wide temperature range of -20C to 60C. It can be leveraged into any installation with its VESA standard mounting holes and AIS offers customized HMI Panel PCs as well as commercial off the shelf units to the customers.
Apart from it, the new HMI system that is IP54 Rated, CE and FCC (News - Alert) certified, and RoHS compliant is also equipped with built-in communication ports supporting RS232, RS485 and Ethernet connectivity and built-in USB ports supporting transfer of files or update of firmware. The price of the HMI Panel PC by AIS begins at $399.
