IT-Enquirer Selects WebINK to Enhance Website Typography

Extensis, a division of Celartem, Inc., a provider of software solutions and services for creative professionals and workgroups, revealed that IT-Enquirer, a provider of online information, market analyses, reports and videocasts for cross media publishers, selected its WebINK web font service for offering enhanced typography on its website.

Till now, Web designers had very limited choice of fonts available to them for offering the text in attractive typesets within the websites, coupled with a number of legal and technical challenges as well.

WebINK by Extensis makes the job easy for the designers by providing them with access to over 2,000 high-quality Web fonts from some of the best known type foundries worldwide. The Web designers just need to select their typefaces through WebINK, and can directly integrate them into their site’s CSS using the @font–face tag (News - Alert). The solution offers the right font for the right browser, and helps the Web designers in improving the accessibility to their websites apart from enhancing their search engine optimization as well.

Both of these web fonts belong to the URW++ Type Foundry, and are available for use within the WebINK. The solution also includes font faces provided by a number of other foundries as well, such as Dalton Maag, Darden Studio, exljbris, Jan Fromm, Mark Simonson Studio, P22, Porchez Typofonderie, ShinnType and TypeTogether.

In August 2010, Extensis released new font auto-activation plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop CS5 and CS4 for Extensis Suitcase Fusion 3. The plug-ins had been designed to automatically activate the exact fonts required for each file, using patented Font Sense technology to create a unique fingerprint for each font.
