AIS Launches Fanless Touch Panel PC

American Industrial Systems, Inc., (AIS), a provider of industrial panel PC, industrial display, digital signage, and rugged tablet PC solutions for customers in a number of markets, has launched a new seven-inch widescreen fanless touch panel PC. The new device, named the NEMA 12 Industrial panel PC, has specifically been designed for building, factory automation, SCADA, and human-machine interface (HMI) applications.

Equipped with the Intel (News - Alert) Atom processor, the NEMA 12 Industrial panel PC offers fanless, efficient and reliable performance consuming minimum electric power. It is powered by the Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows 7 operating system and features the touchscreen operator interfaces system. The PC includes a widescreen LED backlit LCD display with an integrated touch screen HMI, which helps the users in controlling, monitoring and programming directly from the information terminal. Users can connect the touch screen fanless Panel PC with their PAC, PLC, DCS, factory SCADA systems, operator terminals and automation applications.

Enclosed within a compact rugged steel housing, the AIS widescreen touch panel PC features an aluminum front bezel that is sealed to IP54 standards for effective protection against water and dust. Its TFT LCD display offers 400 units high bright and high-contrast for optimal operator control and monitoring, while along with the Intel Atom Processor (News - Alert) it includes enabled chipset, BIOS and optimized operating system. The integrated 4-wire resistive touch offers compact and rugged HMI operations, and its non-volatile solid state storage enables reliable support for protection of the vital data. The NEMA 12 Industrial panel PC is IP54 Rated, CE and FCC (News - Alert) certified and is compliant with Restriction of Hazardous Substances.

The users can connect the device to various control systems through the communication ports provided within it, which offer support for RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet for Modbus or Modbus/TCP protocols. The low-power LED backlight included in the system offers crisp, sharp images, while the built-in USB ports support transferring files or updating firmware.

AIS has developed the device as an industrial grade all-in-one panel PC, which offers enhanced high performance, and can be conveniently programmable and accessed through various non-proprietary hardware based solutions. The advanced features and robust performance of the widescreen operator interface terminal by AIS make it a low-cost device offering enhanced value, and can be easily deployed into building, factory, and industrial automation applications.

Recently this month, American Industrial Systems launched a line of industrial touchscreen open frame monitors featuring LED backlit technology. The AIS open frame HMI LCD Displays deploy mercury-free, low power consumption and long life LED backlights.
