Incorporated in 2006, Kubisys (News - Alert) is dedicated to the mission of automating and simplifying operations of enterprise data centers by introducing next-generation technologies that efficiently and transparently address business requirements of mission-critical operations, said Urano.
The scientist then went to explain the company’s next generation appliance, Thin Capture. It is designed to give organizations the ability to quickly and easily construct accurate on-demand server replicas that can be used to mitigate the risks inherent in making IT changes, noted Urano. Delivered as a 2U rack-mountable appliance, Thin Capture allows data center administrators to perform comprehensive, in-place enterprise maintenance without impacting their production environment and without requiring additional hardware, Urano told Tehrani.
“Thin Capture allows enterprise IT teams to test proposed changes in a non-disruptive way before implementing them. The appliance can create a complete clone of a production application environment within 15 minutes, preserving identical production networking, application stacks and entire datasets,” said Urano.
When asked about what pain points it takes away from customers, the scientist was quick to say that it can create a complete clone of a production test environment within 15 minutes without any disruption to significantly save time and money.
Next, the Kubisys scientist talked about how two technologies, namely server storage and virtualization, were merged to create such an automated appliance. Because the company has a strong storage background and virtualization allows you to automate, it was necessary to marry these two technologies to create a product like Thin Capture, stated Urano.
Furthermore, Tehrani asked Urano to give readers some idea about the cost structure and what’s next for the company. Regarding cost, the appliance costs $80,000, including software, and offers unlimited license. It is working on expanding into other markets, especially small-to-medium businesses.
